Nutrition Skills for Life – Level 1 ’Community Food and Nutrition’ and ‘Get Cooking’  8 week courses run in parallel with individuals gaining qualifications on completion.   ‘Get Cooking’ is very practically based with individuals making a minimum of 12 different dishes over an 8 week course. ‘Community Food and Nutrition’ teaches individuals about healthy eating, based on the eatwell guide. Individuals gain practical skills such as budgeting, shopping for healthy foods and how to adapt recipes for a healthier lifestyle.  The course will consist of 8 weeks cooking, alongside learning basic nutritional skills and on completion individuals will gain 2 accredited qualifications.   Delivery of a range of support programmes focussing on early intervention and prevention to encourage a healthy lifestyle, providing both group and one to one home visits offering weaning support. One to one weaning offers visits to the family home to discuss good weaning practice, offering practical cooking advice and support on shopping on a budget.  Practical weaning support groups provides opportunities for parents to meet as a group and observe practical demonstrations and get involved with weaning in mind, using the sessions as an opportunity to discuss suitable equipment and utensils to use when weaning. Parents will be given a free weaning pack which includes bowl, spoons, bib, food containers, hand blender.  Individuals are referred by health professionals or can make a self referral.

Fussy eaters programme -  A new exciting 4 week programme designed to give parents practical support to encourage ideas and ways of supporting their children to eat a varied diet. Focussing on supporting parents to cope with their fussy eaters in a fun practical way. This programme is ideal for children aged 1+.

Chef Days – For those interested in a job in the food industry, come along to one of our chef days which offer practical advice and tips from local entrepreneurs who are currently working within the catering industry.  Advisers will be on hand with current catering vacancies alongside all the qualifications required to take up employment opportunities in this sector.
