 Employment Support  offering access to work clubs across Torfaen with 1:1 personalised action plan for each individual which identifies opportunities for funded training, volunteering opportunities, work placements, job searching and job preparation alongside support with applications and interview techniques.  Intense support to increase motivation/ personal aspirations .  Opportunities available to access vocational courses such as SIA, SCIF CSCS Cards, Customer Service Courses.  Support to access services designed to remove  wider barriers to employment ( housing, health, childcare, debt, home issues).   Customised training to raise personal confidence, self-awareness and self-esteem (through schemes such as STEPS).  Supporting individuals who are keen to commence self-employment through supporting individuals with advice and development opportunities, navigating the many services available to  support start up and registration.  Offering practical support through business planning, marketing and  promotion, partnership and networking opportunities  to maximise self-employment success rates.

Communities for Work (C4W) is a new project aiming to tackle poverty through sustainable employment, complementing the existing employability work within Communities First. The project consists of Adult, Youth Mentors and Triage workers to offer  intensive one to one mentoring  to progress participants into sustainable employment and further education, with a bespoke personal action plan.   Mentors will match participants skills to local jobs, link to relevant skills training and help to improve motivation and confidence. Officering support to develop employability skills through accessing work placements and volunteering  opportunities alongside access to funding to remove final barriers to work or training e.g. Transport, clothing for work/interviews, tools for work, pre-employment childcare.
